Takeaway: CNET is acquiring TechRepublic. It's a new partnership that will offer TechRepublic members improved resources and insight into the world of IT.

It’s a new day for us here at TechRepublic—we’re going to be joining CNET!

Over the next 90 days, CNET Networks, Inc., will finalize the purchase of TechRepublic from Gartner. You can read about the details of the acquisition in this press release.

What does this mean for you and the other 1.5 million TechRepublic members? In the short term, nothing will change. We’ll still be producing the information and analysis you’ve come to expect from TechRepublic, as well as providing a forum where IT professionals like you can come together to share views and get answers to technical and career questions.

And down the road, joining with CNET will give TechRepublic the ability to enhance what we can offer you. Being able to draw upon the resources of sites in the CNET Network can only make TechRepublic better.

Over the past two years, you’ve made TechRepublic the leading online destination for IT professionals and CIOs. With the power of CNET behind us, we’ll return the favor by offering even more resources to help you succeed in your IT career.
What new features would you like to see at TechRepublic? Share your thoughts on the matter in a discussion below or send us a note.
