Record audible comments for your Word document
Takeaway: Did you know that Microsoft Word also allows you to record spoken notes? With a little bit of equipment, you can add up to 60 seconds of verbal notes to each comment. Mary Ann Richardson talks you through it.
With Word, you are not limited to written comments. If you have a microphone and a sound card for your computer, you also can add your spoken comments to a document. To add a voice comment, follow these steps:
- Click in your document where you want the comment to play.
- Select and click the Insert Voice button on the Reviewing toolbar. (In Word 2002, click the Comment button arrow and select Voice comment.)
- Click the Record button and begin speaking; when you have finished, click the Stop button.
- Close the Sound Object dialog box.
To hear a comment in your document, double-click its sound icon. The Sound Object dialog box will open and play back the comment.
