Microsoft has announced that a number of financial bond functions in the Excel 2000 Analysis ToolPak (ATP) handle the year 2000 leap day improperly. The ATP is an optional add-in that is not enabled in a typical Excel installation, but if you have installed that add-in, here are the functions that are affected:
- ACCRINT
- COUPDAYBS
- COUPDAYS
- COUPDAYSNC
- COUPPCD
- COUPNCD
- DURATION
- MDURATION
- ODDFPRICE
- ODDFYIELD
- PRICE
- YIELD
These functions are only affected when the bond's maturity, settlement, or first interest payment took place on February 29, 2000. If you use any of the functions listed above, you need to get the update from Microsoft’s Excel 2000 Update page .
